The Honda Accord has sold 13 million units in its 41-year history and has earned the Car and Driver award for “10 Best Cars” a record 32 times. With its lengthy paper trail of success and a trophy case so full, it would be easy for the 2018 Accord to comfortably rest on its laurels and not push forward. But push forward it does.
Let’s examine the newest iteration of Honda’s most consistent model. The times might be changing, but the accolades certainly will not.
Though clearly, the 2018 Accord is not a sports car – there may be occasions when you confuse it for such. This one fluid drive. Ride handling, balance, and acceleration top of its class, and the V6 engine packs 252 horses under its hood. Chassis transitions feel smooth and there with 273 pounds per foot of torque at 1,500 rpm. Altogether the performance can only be described as stellar and very few models in this class can even compete with the ’18 Accord.
Why hello there, beautiful. The interior of the 2018 Accord returns to a more simplistic approach while simultaneously leaping forward in technology. The materials themselves are exceptionally high in quality, with leather and lovely touches of faux-wood. The seating itself feels more comfortable as well with extended legroom in 2018 due to a slight wheelbase stretch. This is a supremely comfortable drive on every measurable level.
The Accord has always been a good looking sedan and that trend absolutely continues into 2018. The car has become longer, more slender, and more aerodynamic with sleek contouring and well-placed body lines. It may not be a head-turner, but it certainly exceeds the modest standard set by most sedans.
Every high-tech bell and whistle that can assist with crash prevention is included with the 2018 Accord. That includes blind-spot monitors, lane-departure warnings, automatic emergency braking, road departure mitigation, active lane control, blind-spot monitors, and more. We don’t expect you to crash, but if you do, you’re in good hands.
The MSRP is tentatively set for $24,445, which, all things considered, is outrageously affordable considering the superior quality of this sedan. Additionally, the Accord is delightfully fuel-efficient with an average of 30/38 miles per gallon city/highway which is a gift that keeps on giving.
Sometimes one car really does deliver on all fronts. The 2018 Accord is the perfect example of that dream coming true. Performance. Style. Comfort. Safety. Affordability. The ’18 Accord wins on every imaginable front. Don’t believe us? Don’t believe the countless stream of awards? Come test drive it around Portland and Vancouver. We’re confident you’ll reach the same conclusion.
